Serious injuries result from Illinois truck accident

Truck accidents often have the reputation of being serious and causing substantial damage. This reputation likely came about because the outcomes of many truck accidents are serious injuries and often totaled vehicles, especially if smaller vehicles are involved. If an individual is injured after such a crash, he or she may consider legal action for seeking compensation for the damages that resulted.
An accident in Illinois led to two drivers being injured after two trucks were involved in an accident. Details on the accident were few, but it was stated that a tractor trailer and a box truck were involved in the crash on I-80. They were traveling west, and the accident closed one lane of traffic. Photographs from the scene show the tractor trailer overturned and considerable damage to the cab of the truck.
One of the drivers had to be transported from the scene by helicopter due to the injuries that were suffered. The other driver was also taken from the scene, but an ambulance was utilized for that individual. It was not clear what may have caused the accident or which driver may have possibly been responsible. An investigation should continue to determine those factors.
Like many other truck accidents, this Illinois incident regrettably resulted in serious injuries. Because both drivers involved were injured, it is possible that either could have reason to file a personal injury claim. Once the investigation is concluded and a driver has been deemed at fault, the individual not responsible may wish to pursue a civil case in order to possibly be awarded reparations for medical costs and other damages.
