Illinois car accident results in death, icy roads possible factor

ofSpeed, road conditions and weather are all factors that drivers need to take note of and accommodate for while traveling. If a driver fails to properly adjust for one or all of these aspects, a serious car accident could quickly occur. As a result, the driver could face serious consequences and other travelers could suffer injuries.
An accident in Illinois had several contributing factors that led to its occurrence. Reports indicate that a box truck was travelling the interstate when the driver lost control of the vehicle apparently due to speed and icy road conditions. As a result, the vehicle traveled across the median and into oncoming traffic. The truck then collided with a van, and another vehicle was also involved.
A passenger in the van suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision and was declared dead on site. The driver of the van was transported to an area hospital to be treated for injuries. No other individuals involved in the crashed were injured. The driver of the box truck was ticketed for violations, including improper lane usage and failing to reduce speed. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
As this situation shows, when outside factors are coupled together when driving, a serious car accident can occur. The majority of individuals involved in this accident possibly feel relieved to not have been injured in the crash, but the family of the deceased victim may be viewing the accident in a different light. As a result, the family could face considerable difficulties both emotionally and financially in the times ahead. Therefore, they may wish to explore their legal options in Illinois to determine whether possibly filing a wrongful death claim against the driver deemed responsible could be right for them.
