Illinois car accident leads to driver and passenger deaths

ofInterstate roadways are often the scene of devastating accidents across the country. These roadways typically have higher speeds and more lanes of traffic than other roadways, and as a result, some drivers may not maneuver their vehicles as safely. When drivers fail to pay attention to other drivers or are driving at excessive speeds, they may find themselves involved in a serious car accident that could result in the deaths of other individuals.
A fatal accident recently took place in Illinois that resulted in the death of two individuals. It was reported that a vehicle that was possibly speeding hit the side of a pickup truck as the first vehicle was trying to merge onto the northbound interstate. As a result of the initial collision, the pickup truck traveled through the median and into the southbound lanes. The truck then collided head on with another vehicle.
The crash resulted in the deaths of both the driver and the passenger of the southbound vehicle. The passenger died at the site of the crash, and the driver was transported to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. None of the other individuals involved in the crash suffered life threatening injuries. It was reported that charges relating to the event were pending.
Because the Illinois car accident resulted in the death of two individuals, the family of the victims could potentially have a difficult time financially as they prepare for the funeral arrangements of both individuals. Funerals can be costly affairs, and therefore, the family may wish to consider seeking compensation for the expenses and other damages resulting from the accident. A wrongful death claim filed against the driver considered responsible could allow the family to pursue those reparations.
