Head-on collision in Illinois leaves multiple people injured
On behalf of Frederick & Hagle posted in Car Accidents on Tuesday, January 5, 2016.
ofWhen multiple vehicles are involved in a car accident, it is likely that several people could potentially be injured. A recent head-on collision in Illinois involved at least eight people that were in three separate vehicles. Two of those vehicles were a part of the head-on crash, and the third vehicle struck a guardrail after attempting to avoid the first two vehicles.
The accident took place at approximately 2:30 p.m., and the road was closed for over 30 minutes. A photograph from the scene appears to show an SUV over the center dividing line. Whether the driver of that vehicle was at fault for the crash is unknown as it was not specifically noted in the report what may have caused the collision. The SUV and a smaller car both appear to have sustained front end damage.
It was also reported that eight individuals involved were injured and taken to multiple area hospitals. Details of what types of injuries they may have suffered were also not disclosed. It is likely that authorities are continuing to investigate the accident, and additional information may be available at a later time.
Should this head-on collision have resulted in serious injuries to any of the parties involved, those individuals may have cause to pursue legal action. Serious injuries can cause physical difficulties as well as financial troubles stemming from medical costs and other expenses. Filing a personal injury claim against the driver considered at fault could help those injured individuals seek compensation for damages permitted under Illinois law.
