OSHA cites company for safety violations leading to job injuries

Although OSHA doesn’t have the resources to inspect all businesses within its authority, it does make more thorough inspections of companies that record a higher than average injury and illness rate. One company targeted by OSHA for a higher rate of job injuries was the Illinois scrap recycling center owned by Midland Davis Corp. Terrifying Illinois steel plant explosion injures 9 employees

Firefighters report that they had been to the Illinois steel plant that had an explosion last week on previous occasions due to workplace accidents, but this was the worst they had responded to. The Occupational and Safety Health Administration is investigating the industrial accident that injured at least nine employees, but preliminary reports indicate it may have been an explosion of natural gas.

Illinois worker dies after falling into ‘chemical sludge’

ofLast week, an Illinois man died a terrible death while he was on the job. Reportedly, the Illinois man worked as a part of a team that cleaned out storage tanks. The man was cleaning out a tank in Wheeling, Illinois, that housed a chemical solvent used in products like paint thinner.
