Pedestrian dies after sustaining serious injuries in Illinois

Individuals may choose to walk to certain destinations due to the convenience, source of exercise or lack of other mode of transportation. However, walking along roadways can pose serious risks if drivers are careless or do not give pedestrians a wide berth. Unfortunately, pedestrian accidents can occur in the blink of an eye, and serious injuries or a fatality could be a likely outcome of such an event.

A similar accident took place in Illinois when a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. A woman was reportedly standing on the side of a roadway when a passing truck collided with her. The woman was noted as being 26 years old, and the driver of the truck was 19.

The woman sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision. She was taken to an area hospital but was declared dead. The driver of the truck was listed as not having sustained any injuries as a result of the accident. At this time no charges have been filed in relation to the event, but authorities should continue to investigate to determine whether any extenuating circumstances could have played a role.

The sudden loss of a loved one due to serious injuries can leave a family reeling. They may soon become overwhelmed by grief and the onslaught of immediate decisions needing to be made.
