Illinois car accident leads to death and serious injuries

ofMany people may not consider leaving parking lots or other areas in order to enter the roadway a particularly dangerous endeavor. However, depending on the circumstances, such a task could result in serious injuries if another driver is speeding or a driver does not see on-coming traffic. In these cases, a car accident could easily occur, and a simple task could lead to the loss of a life.
A similar situation took place in Illinois when a driver was attempting to pull out of a parking lot and into a roadway. As the driver was attempting the maneuver, the vehicle was struck by an apparently on-coming vehicle. The conditions of the road were listed as clear but wet, and no other details concerning causes of the accident were disclosed.
Both occupants of the first vehicle were transported from the scene to an area hospital. The driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital, and the passenger is considered to be in critical condition. The driver of the second vehicle reportedly did not suffer any injuries as a result of the accident. The event is still under investigation as authorities work to determine what factors may have played a role in the crash.
A fatal car accident is a harrowing event that can affect many people and can begin a chain reaction of events. After the crash, the family of the deceased may have many difficult situations to navigate, including arrangements for laying their loved one to rest and possible legal circumstances stemming from the accident. If the surviving driver is deemed at fault in the accident due to speed or other factors having been found as significant contributions, the family of the decedent may wish to file a wrongful death claim in order to possibly seek compensation for their loss and other damages permitted under Illinois law.
