Illinois car collision causes deaths and injuries

A momentary distraction could lead to a driver missing vital information while driving. This information could come in the form of street signs letting drivers know that certain action need to be taken. Commonly, stops signs are placed at intersections in order to allow traffic to flow more safely. If a driver fails to stop at a stop sign due to being distracted or for other reasons, the vehicle that individual is driving could cause a car collision with another vehicle.
An accident that recently occurred in Illinois is thought to have taken place under similar circumstances. Reports stated that three high school cheerleaders were traveling west when the driver of the vehicle did not stop at a stop sign. As a result, that vehicle crashed into a pickup truck. The collision caused the truck to catch fire, and the car to end up in a nearby field.
The driver of the pickup truck was declared dead at the crash site. The three girls in the car were transported from the scene, but one of the individuals died at an area hospital. The conditions of the other two girls were not known at the time of the report. It was unclear whether the driver of the car survived the accident.
Because this car collision resulted in deaths and injuries, there may be cause for civil claims to be filed. The family of the pickup truck victim may wish to file a wrongful death claim against the driver considered at fault or the driver’s estate. Additionally, passengers in the car who were seriously injured may also wish to explore their personal injury claims options in order to seek compensation for damages permissible under Illinois law.
